Live client website

Project overview

I designed and developed a custom author website for Brynna Morgan, a published writer and tarot deck designer. The site brings together her books, the Cowboys From Hell series, earlier fan-fiction writing, and an in-progress Steampunk Tarot deck in one cohesive online presence.

The challenge

Brynna's work spans several creative areas with very different visual personalities. The site needed to feel unified without making the contemporary romance books, the fictional country-music world, and the darker Steampunk Tarot artwork look as though they belonged to unrelated websites.

Design solution

I developed a dark literary palette with aged-gold and turquoise accents, then allowed each body of work to retain its own character. The books are organized for easy browsing and purchasing, the Cowboys From Hell series has a dedicated section, and the tarot artwork is presented in a gallery that reflects the decorative style of the deck.

Original creative work

In addition to the website, I designed Brynna's book covers and created character artwork used in the project. Bringing those assets into the web design helped create a consistent visual world across the author's books and online presence.

Process

I organized Brynna's existing material, developed the information architecture, prepared and optimized artwork for the web, wrote responsive semantic HTML and CSS, added mobile navigation and gallery interactions, connected her Amazon and AO3 links, and created a teaser section for the upcoming The Surfing Cowboy.
