Live demonstration website

Project overview

The Menu Café is an original demonstration website created to show how a family restaurant can present its menu, signature dishes, desserts, and personality in a clear and inviting way. The site is hosted separately at themenu.cafe so prospective clients can experience it as a complete live website.

The challenge

Restaurant visitors usually arrive with a few immediate questions: What is on the menu? What kind of food is served? What makes the restaurant memorable? How do I get in touch? The design needed to answer those questions quickly on both desktop and mobile screens.

Design solution

I created a warm restaurant identity with strong food photography, simple navigation, readable content cards, dedicated menu and pie pages, and clear calls to action. The design uses responsive layouts and accessible structure so the experience remains easy to use across screen sizes.

Process

I planned the site architecture, developed the pages with semantic HTML, built the responsive presentation in CSS, added JavaScript for mobile navigation, selected and prepared restaurant imagery, and tested local links and assets before deployment.

Portfolio purpose

The Menu Café functions as a realistic mock business website rather than a site for an actual restaurant. It demonstrates the type of polished, approachable web presence Artistic Meanderings Web Design LLC can create for restaurants and other local service businesses.
